Spanish Mushrooms
I hadn’t used as much time on the Scottish islands as usual so had some holiday to use up. After the election we flew to Barcelona then drove to Esera, out third trip there. We had two days on slate/limestone (Spanish folk were climbing there) and one day on our own on the limestone. Two days on our own on the gneiss and a day on the schist; we shared the schist with a retired couple from Sheffield, they had a dog that barked a lot every time we spoke!
On the way to the gneiss there were plenty of mushrooms (more than I could eat) so I gave away a few pounds of them to locals. They were much appreciated, the woman in the bakery/grocers that I gave mushrooms to talked a lot to me after that, but unfortunately I’ve no idea what she said. Embarrassingly we normally don’t/can’t communicate with the locals. Photo below of gneiss crags and mushroom meadow
