China Crag (again)
I checked and noticed that I have mentioned this crag in three blogs last year, this is the first time this year!
I had looked at the crag many times over the years but had never been to it as I was always going to bigger crags further up Coire Lagan, or rushing back to the road.
Summer before last we were back climbing on the Cioch, the small crag caught my attention again as we walked out. Back home I checked the guide book and found two 15m routes in Coire Lagan, if the crag was 15m high or more then I would get away with recording routes on it. We were in Glen Brittle in November 2013 so I took the short walk to the crag. It was a lot bigger than 15m and looked great, so Coire Lagan was firmly on my list of objectives for the spring.

The weather was finally good enough at the end of May so I took a Friday off work to get a head start and told some friends I would be at Sligachan at night to get some more routes done on the Saturday with them. My plan back fired when The Lawyer said he would join us on Friday. Court had been cancelled, but he still got a couple of phone calls on the way up the road asking for advise from a young lawyer in ‘the firm’. The crag was written up in last years SMC journal but three routes were climbed later so didn’t make the deadline. There is a short VS well right of the topo. Photos are here FA
