Welcome to Sassland
My first time climbing in England for two years; we were on Yorkshire Limestone and Grit in early June and had a walk round York, photos are here England
We went back south two weeks later to climb in Glen Duddon.
Between the two trips we had a visit to Coll, one crag was a non starter because of peregrines but we still climbed some fine routes on other crags.
I also went for a walk at Carnoch (Ardgour) and noticed a bolt above a steep wall.
Weather was often disappointing (with the cold weather midges were not much of a problem) we had a couple of fine days on the local granite.
Did a few routes on the mainland but the highlight was a ‘new’ crag near here. Three routes so far on quartzite, great outlook and it gets the evening sun.

Bert Leitch died recently, I often climb near his farm. One time as he was driving past some rocks, he stopped and shouted up “You’re no as good as that French lassie”.
He was right.
